I am just curious that is the Whidbey an add on or an upgrade to visual studio.net or is it a framework.
And where can i download it ??you best bet for answers is to check out the Whidbey forums that are lower down on the main Forums page.
You need to be an MSDN subscriber or have attended the last PDC to get the Alpha version of Whidbey and ASP.Net 2.0
If you are an MSDN subscriber, you can get a copy by calling the customer support line and requesting the PDC DVDs. This will get you both Whidbey and Yukon to play with. Beyond that, you will have to wait for the public beta in SPring 2004.
Just to update this... When you call and order from MSDN they do not send you the Yukon bits from the PDC. You'll get 3 DVDs:
1. Longhorn build 4051 installs, SDK's
2. Longhorn ISO Disk (includes Virtual PC, unsure of version)
3. Whidby DVD
Is there any way to test drive and take a guided tour of "Whirby", just like Visual Studio .NET 2003 running on Windows Server 2003 in a completely hosted environment?
thanks!!!

And if you really can't wait for the public beta release, I'm sure you can find the PDC beta on some of the P2P networks.
